UMBALA

Umbala is a project based on the study of chromatic color schemes in objects.

All bodies are made up of substances that absorb and reflect electromagnetic waves, that is, they absorb and reflect colors.

Through our work in Umbala, we sought to explore the way in which chromatic color schemes manifest in objects. We were fascinated by the way in which color could be used to convey different emotions and ideas, and we wanted to create a visual language that could communicate these messages. One of the main inspirations for Umbala was the idea of synesthesia, a neurological condition where individuals can experience two or more senses simultaneously.

We wanted to create an artwork that could simulate this experience, using colors and textures to create a sensory overload that would transport the viewer to another world. To achieve this, we used a variety of digital tools to create a series of abstract objects, each with their own unique chromatic color scheme. These objects were designed to evoke different emotions and sensations, from tranquility to chaos, and were carefully arranged to create a cohesive and immersive visual experience.

In addition to exploring the way in which color can be used to convey emotion, we also wanted to challenge traditional notions of what constitutes an object. By creating abstract forms that defy easy categorization, we aimed to encourage viewers to question their preconceived notions of what is real and what is imagined. Ultimately, Umbala is a project that seeks to blur the boundaries between art and science, reality and imagination, and the sensory and the cerebral. It is an invitation to explore the world of chromatic color schemes in new and exciting ways, and to experience the power of color to evoke emotion and shape our perceptions of the world around us.
